Autumn vacation in Egypt 2021 – These are the official Corona and entry rules

Egypt – the land of pharaohs, pyramids and eternal dunes. The impressive history of the country is always worth a trip. Autumn in particular attracts many tourists to the historic cities and endless beaches. Now is the time to apply for the Egypt visa for Germans and to keep an eye on the Corona regulations.

Egypt, here I come! – Visa requirements for German citizens

An Egypt visa is a must for all members of the European Union. With a German passport, you have several options. The visa on arrival is very classic. German arrivals apply for a visa at the Egyptian border. This must be paid in cash, as the border authorities do not accept debit or credit cards. The Egypt visa on arrival is practical, but time-consuming. Especially on short vacations, valuable time is wasted queuing.

So it is easier to apply for an eVisa right away. This is not only quick online and without a visit to the local Egyptian embassy, but also saves a lot of time on site. When entering the country, German citizens with eVisa are immediately guided through border control. So the holiday can start relaxed.

When applying for the Egypt visa, it is first important to decide on the right visa. For an autumn holiday in Egypt, a one-time visa is sufficient. This allows the traveler to move freely in Egypt for a maximum of 30 days at a time. After that, the country must be left again. However, if you can’t get enough of Egypt, you can also apply for a multiple-entry visa. For example, a German passport can be used to enter and leave Egypt several times within 180 days. However, as with the single visa, the stay is limited to 30 continuous days.

How to apply for the Egypt visa correctly – it’s that easy

The application for the eVisa should be submitted at least one week before the start of the trip. This requires a scanned and digitized German passport that is valid for at least six months after the date of entry into Egypt. In addition, applicants will need a valid debit or credit card to pay the application fee and a valid email address to which the decision will be sent. The full name listed in the passport, nationality, date of birth, passport data (passport number, expiry date, date of issue), and the current telephone number are required as information. The itinerary and the addresses and names of the hotels in which you will stay must also be indicated. Last but not least, information about the current state of health and possible criminal records is requested.

Once the Egypt visa has been approved, the eVisa must be printed in order to be able to show it to the border authorities in Egypt. Germans with dual citizenship must make sure to apply for the eVisa with the passport they will use to enter Egypt. Otherwise, entry will be refused. Then the long queue at the border control beckons.
