Armenia

Armenia is a small, mountainous country in the South Caucasus, bordering Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkey. As one of the oldest nations in the world, Armenia presents a rich history dating back to 860 BC, and it is the first country to adopt Christianity as the state religion in 301 AD.

The capital city of Yerevan is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and offers an impressive mix of historic buildings and modern architecture. Here you will find the Matenadaran Museum, which houses one of the world’s largest collections of medieval manuscripts.

Armenia is often referred to as the “Land of Stones” due to its numerous mountains and unique tuff architecture. One of the most notable examples of Armenian architecture is the Geghard Monastery, which is partially carved into the rock and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Armenian heritage is also noticeable through its music, dance, and cuisine. Armenian folk music is rich and diverse, and the country is famous for its culinary traditions with specialties such as khorovats (grilled meat) and lavash (thin bread).

The nature of Armenia is breathtaking and diverse, with mountains, forests, and lakes offering breathtaking panoramas. Lake Sevan, the largest lake in Armenia, is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering opportunities for fishing, sailing, and hiking.

Armenia is a country with deep historical significance and cultural richness, and despite its small size, it offers a variety of experiences for history lovers, nature enthusiasts, and culture buffs.
