Römö – diverse North Sea island

0

You can see it from the northernmost tip of Sylt : the Danish island of Römö (Rømø). It is one of the most popular holiday destinations for Germans. And rightly so, because Römö offers modern recreational opportunities and exciting attractions – and has been able to retain its typical Danish charm.

The widest beach in Europe

Römö is very manageable: the Wadden Sea island has just about 560 inhabitants. Most of them live in traditional thatched houses and are farmers. But since German tourists in particular have discovered the idyllic Römö as a holiday destination, a lot has changed: in Lakolk, the most important (and probably only) tourist town on the island, numerous restaurants, cafés and shops, even an entire shopping street, have sprung up in recent years. Lakolk is the gateway to the largest beach in Northern Europe, and the widest in Europe!

The west coast of Rømø is a single beach up to four kilometres wide. Large parts can be accessed by car or motorhome, others are car-free and therefore particularly suitable for families with children. The southern sections can be used for sand yachting and buggy kiting – free of charge. Since the Atlantic coast of Römö is very windy, hundreds of kites can be observed fluttering in the sky – especially during the annual kite festival .

Sights and tourist activities

Despite its manageable size, Rømø offers several ways to pass the time: the island has a mini golf course, as well as a real 18-hole golf course. By the way, right next to the Römö Golf Club is the Enjoy Resort – the largest wellness resort in Denmark! It offers 200 luxurious apartments, a spa, hairdresser and restaurant.

Toftum Skole is Denmark’s oldest – and smallest – school. The small thatched roof house has only one classroom, in which up to 40 students used to learn. Today, the more than 200-year-old building belongs to the National Museum of Denmark and can be visited free of charge.

At the port of Römö is the so-called Cannon Hill. The 400-year-old cannons, which are aimed at the sea, come from a Swedish ship that capsized off the coast. Römö played an important role during the Thirty Years’ War: after a bloody battle, the island finally fell to the Holy Roman Emperor.
The bunkers of Römö date back to more recent history. The approximately 50 fortifications were built as part of the Atlantic Wall during the Second World War. Up to 1400 German soldiers occupied the island in 1942. If you want to visit the historic bunkers, you can do so on the bunker tour.

The island’s little-used gravel roads also offer excellent opportunities for cycling, horseback riding and hiking. It is quite possible that you will discover deer, hares or foxes.

Authentic Havneby

Port of Havneby

Havneby translates as port city. Actually, the small town with 270 inhabitants is more of a port village. Around the harbour of the island are several traditional Danish houses. For some years now, Havneby has also had a supermarket, several shops and restaurants, as well as some holiday homes. But the harbour has not lost its identity: the fishing boats, the smell of fresh fish and the rough North Sea wind give tranquil Havneby its very own charm.

Places to stay in Rømø

In addition to the wellness resort already mentioned, Römö offers many other accommodation options. There are three campsites: one is located in the north of the island, another at the southern tip. First Camp Lakolk is the largest in Rome with over 1000 pitches. Important: Wild camping is prohibited on the entire island.

The most popular is certainly the holiday home in Denmark, e.g. in Havneby. If you prefer something a little more traditional, you can opt for one of the numerous accommodations offered on holiday home brokerage platforms.

Day trips

If you are looking for a little variety, there are several options for exciting day trips. Crossing the ferry to Sylt takes only 40 minutes. On the way there is a beautiful view of the coasts of Rømø and the Wadden Sea. There is also a duty-free shop, an on-board restaurant and a bar on board. You can also take the car with you.

Located opposite the east coast of Römö is Skærbæk. The dam that leads to the island starts here. Skærbæk is a popular destination for day trips, especially for families with children. The small Danish town of Skærbæk – called Scherrbeck in German – attracts visitors with the “friendliest holiday centre in Denmark”. There is a bowling alley, a swimming pool, several gyms and football pitches.

A little further north is Ribe. It is the oldest still inhabited city in Denmark. Its sights include Ribe Cathedral, which was founded around 1200 years ago. The townscape is characterised by medieval buildings and the idyllic harbour. There are several good restaurants and ice cream parlors. Not far from Ribe, the Ribe VikingeCenter promises a journey into times gone by. The open-air museum provides insights into the life of a typical Viking village. It is realistic and detailed, and therefore very popular with children.

But back to the island: Whether you are in a caravan on the campsite or spend the night in a traditional thatched house, whether you fly kites with the children or beach sail at high speed – Rømø offers relaxation, fun and adventure for all holidaymakers!

Smoking prohibited – what travelers absolutely need to know

0

No one doubts that smoking is harmful to health. Unfortunately, it is not always easy to get rid of the health-threatening habit overnight. It becomes particularly embarrassing when you go on a trip as a smoker. Because more and more destinations have become smoke-free and you have to come to terms with the local rules somehow.

Of course, there are also alternatives to the glow stick that can be especially useful in foreign countries. For example, you can reach for the so-called nicotine pouches, which convince not only with the nicotine kick but also with interesting flavors. If you are interested in this option, which is particularly beneficial to travelers, you can check it here. By the way, the pouches are available in different strengths, so you can choose them according to your own nicotine consumption.

With or without nicotine pouches, it is recommended to familiarize yourself with the local restrictions regarding smoking. This way you make sure that you don’t violate local laws and thus save yourself a lot of problems.

Spain

If you want to travel to the “Land of the Rabbits”, as the name of the country translates in the language of the indigenous people, the Phoenicians, then you should definitely know that there is a complete ban on smoking in Spain . In the outdoor areas of public facilities, on playgrounds and even if you want to experience the famous bullfights up close, lighting a cigarette is a taboo.

So-called smoking clubs are an exception. You can also smoke in the outdoor areas of some bars, but you have to accept that these places are quickly overcrowded.

What will not particularly please friends of the Spanish sun: a nationwide law is currently being discussed that will turn all beaches into smoke-free zones.

Austria

Until recently, Austria could be described as a Mecca for smokers. Because here the annoying habit was dealt with quite liberally. Smoking was allowed in most places in the land of mountains and lakes. For this purpose, special smoking rooms had been set up, whereby the only requirement for the enjoyment of the cigarette was that no smoke penetrated into non-smoking areas.

However, since November 1, 2019, the liberal approach to smoking has come to an end. A complete ban on smoking has been introduced in all bars and restaurants. So if you want to admire the Austrian sights and try out the local cuisine at the same time, you have to rely on alternatives to cigarettes.

Germany

If you want to linger over beer and sausages in the land of the Oktoberfest, you have to thoroughly study the regulations of the individual federal states beforehand. Believe it or not, it is up to the authorities in the 16 countries to introduce smoking bans on their own.

In general, smoking is prohibited in all public buildings, offices, hospitals, theatres and universities. The same applies to all train stations and airports. In the states of Bavaria, Saarland and North Rhine-Westphalia, the absolute smoking ban also extends to pubs and restaurants. However, there are exceptions that make the life of smokers easier in the other 13 federal states. Here you can light a cigarette in the specially marked side rooms of restaurants without making yourself liable to prosecution.

Ireland

In the land of fairies and goblins, people have long been uncompromising against smokers. The country was the first in the world to introduce an absolute ban on smoking in 2004. Anyone who dares to follow their bad habit in closed rooms must expect a fine of up to 3,000 euros. The strict measures have found support among governments worldwide and the smoking bans in other countries were not long in coming.

United States

In the United States, it is often decided at the local level whether and where you can smoke. Since smoking regulations can therefore vary not only from state to state, but from city to city, it is advisable to always inform yourself locally before reaching for a cigarette.

The measures against smokers are particularly strict in California and New York. Here, there is an absolute ban on smoking in many parks and not only inside buildings, but even within a radius of several meters around the building itself. Smoking is also prohibited in swimming pools and also on promenades and beaches. Also, you can’t buy cigarettes in these states if you’re younger than 21.

However, this is not the case everywhere in the United States. Especially in the south of the country, people have a somewhat milder attitude towards smokers. In some places you can even experience scenes known from westerns, where someone goes smoking into the bar.

Koh Samui – The Pearl of Thailand

Versatile Thailand is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world because of its paradisiacal beaches and islands. A Mecca that the Southeast Asian state has in store is the charming island of Koh Samui – one of the most beautiful islands in the world.

With its 233 square kilometers, it is considered the third largest island in Thailand. In the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Samui is even the largest island. Currently, the Thai island has an average of 46,000 inhabitants. Translated from Thai into English, “Koh” or “Ko” means something like island.

The beautiful spot is surrounded by the Gulf of Thailand, a marginal sea that is part of the Pacific Ocean. About 35 kilometers separate the island of Koh Samui, also known as Ko Samui, from the Thai mainland. It is assigned to Surat Thani Province, which is located in the south of Thailand. Together with about 60 other islands, Koh Samui forms the so-called Samui Archipelago, which also includes the Ang Thong Marine National Park. In the west of Koh Samui you will find the main town of the island. The 5000-inhabitant city of Ban Nathon is a lively place where the heart of Koh Samui beats.

The landscape of Koh Samui is strongly influenced by numerous coconut palms, which are abundant here because of the tropical climate. For this reason, Ko Samui is also called the “island of coconut palms”.

Especially in the south of the island, you will find an impressive landscape that has retained its originality.

If you are lucky, you will find almost deserted beach sections on some days. If you prefer to plunge into the hustle and bustle, the tourist resorts of Lamai and Chaweng are the right place. Lamai Beach and Chaweng Beach, one of the most beautiful and sought-after beaches on the island, awaits you here. Maenam Beach in the north of the island and Silver Beach, which can be found in eastern Koh Samui, also boast their beauty. So they show themselves with fine sand and clear water.

The religious site is considered the sanctuary of the island and should only be entered with covered shoulders and knees out of respect for religion.

An amazing natural spectacle, especially in the rainy season, is provided by the Na Muang and Hin Lad waterfalls not far from Nathon. There are two Namuang waterfalls in total. The largest of them is 80 meters high. To marvel at the masses of water, you have to take a short path through the jungle.

Creative ideas for the use and storage of holiday pictures

Holiday pictures are both beautiful memories of unforgettable moments and an ideal way to use them creatively. While in many households the pictures are forgotten after a short time, there are a variety of original options to stage them or to lovingly store them. To ensure that your holiday pictures don’t rot on your smartphone or camera in the future, we have collected a few nice ideas for using your photos in this article.

Photo calendar and travel diary

If you always want to keep your holiday pictures within reach, a photo calendar or a travel diary is primarily suitable. The photo calendar can be equipped with pictures of a wide variety of trips, so that they always fit the respective day and season. With the help of a travel diary, on the other hand, it is possible to relive the journey again and again through the pictures and share the moments together.

Change of seasons with picture frames

Similar to the photo calendar, picture frames also have the potential to adapt the atmosphere in the room to the respective season by deliberately changing the pictures. With the help of a rotating gallery of the most beautiful holiday pictures, there is always the right spatial mood. In addition, the picture frames can also be visually selected according to the current season. While pictures of the last beach holiday are ideal in summer, pictures of winter, for example of snow-capped mountains, create the right ambience. To save yourself unnecessary effort, it is important to rely on picture frames that can be easily replaced. Alternatively, there are now digital picture frames. With these, it is possible to make a pre-selection of images suitable for the season, which are then automatically displayed in rotation.

Personalized Gifts

Holiday pictures, on the other hand, are a good way to give a gift to dear friends or family. Whether personalized photo calendars, mugs or even puzzles – any gifts are not only unique, but also a great opportunity to share past travel experiences and bring joy to others.

Wall collages and photo walls

Nowadays, thanks to the use of modern technology, it is possible to use the most beautiful holiday pictures even expansively. Unique wall collages or entire photo walls from your own holiday pictures can be created in numerous sizes and formats and are a great alternative to small photo frames. In addition, they make it possible to furnish entire walls creatively and aesthetically, giving the room a special charm.

Digital slideshows and screensavers

Holiday pictures can also be used for digital slide shows or as a screensaver for the computer or even TV. These dynamic presentations are also a great way to share travel memories with friends and family while brightening up your home. To ensure the necessary variety, the duration of the slideshow is important. For example, it is important to make sure that an image is displayed for between five and 15 minutes before a new one appears.

Conclusion – Holiday pictures offer a wide range of creative options

If you want to store or even present your holiday pictures in the best possible way, there are numerous ways to do so. Nevertheless, it is always important to remember that the way in which the holiday pictures are used should depend entirely on personal preference and furnishing style. With a little creativity and sensitivity, the holiday pictures can not only be stored, but stylishly integrated into everyday life.

Holidays in the mountains – this belongs on your packing list

The beautiful peaks of the Alps or the breathtaking mountains of the Pyrenees attract numerous holidaymakers every year. To ensure that you are sufficiently equipped for hikes or long walks at high altitudes and valleys, you should put together your luggage carefully. We provide you with the appropriate checklists and tips for this.

The right clothing for a mountain holiday

If you don’t just go to the mountains to unwind and spend a wellness holiday there, you need suitable outdoor clothing. Which pieces absolutely belong in your luggage depends on the respective season. In principle, however, you should take these items of clothing with you:

  • Breathable underwear with a perfect fit and high freedom of movement
  • Long and short hiking pants with practical pockets
  • Short-sleeved hiking shirt for warm days
  • Long-sleeved hiking shirt for cooler weather or sun protection
  • A softshell jacket that protects against wind and moisture
  • Possibly a rain jacket with a waterproof surface.
Cardigan for the mountains
Cardigans are particularly suitable for the mountains because they can also be worn open, Image: New Africa / shutterstock

In addition, it can be useful to pack a cardigan even in summer. As soon as the sun disappears behind the clouds, it quickly gets cool high up in the mountains. For example, cardigans can be used to regulate heat exchange, because the practical parts can be worn open or closed as well as an additional layer under the jacket. If you’re out in the mountains in spring, autumn or winter, you’ll need extra layers to keep you warm. Thermal underwear and fleece jackets are then the order of the day. Gloves, headbands and hats may also be necessary.

Robust footwear in the right size

In addition to a neat outfit, you need shoes that can withstand the demands of the mountains. They should have a profiled sole and consist of a robust upper material. It is best to impregnate the shoes before the trip so that they repel moisture. Also, break in your footwear before your holiday so you can make sure it fits properly. Suitable hiking socks and insoles have an effect on comfort. Again, you can experiment a little in advance. Merino wool socks are a suitable choice because they are breathable and keep you warm.

Note: Suitable footwear is essential for a safe step. Your toes should still have a little room in the front. At the back, the heel must sit firmly. Also, pay attention to where you go. It is best to stick to marked hiking trails and always be attentive. Do not underestimate the dangers and always check the weather forecast before a longer hike.

Small first-aid kit for the mountains

For the mountain holiday, pack everything you would otherwise put in your first-aid kit. These include painkillers, plasters, wound dressings and a wound healing ointment. The following products should also be taken with you for a mountain or hiking holiday:

  • Awning: At high altitudes, UV radiation is particularly strong. Take plenty of sunscreen and a lip balm stick with UV protection.
  • Blister plasters: Painful blisters can spoil any view, no matter how beautiful. The best way to get none in the first place is to choose the right footwear. If it does happen, you can help yourself with blister plasters. They protect the bladder and relieve the pain a little.
  • Insect repellent: Especially in the summer months, you have to expect mosquito bites. Therefore, pack an appropriate protective spray. This should definitely contain the active ingredients DEET or Icaridin.

Extra luggage for multi-day hikes

Of course, the optimal luggage composition depends on how you will spend your holiday in the mountains. For example, if you plan to hike from hut to hut and sleep or even camp in a different accommodation every night, you will need additional equipment:

  • Hand wash: This allows you to quickly wash your clothes on the go, so you don’t have to carry around as much.
  • Small Gas Stove: Those who hike diligently consume a lot of calories. With a gas stove, you can prepare hot meals even in the wilderness. For hiking, there are particularly small and light models.
  • Tent: It is important to have a low weight, after all, you have to carry the tent around with you. In summer, a tarp may be the better and lighter solution.
  • Sleeping pad: This means that the floor no longer feels so cold and uneven.
  • Sleeping bag: It keeps you cosy and warm at night when camping or in hiker’s huts. Be sure to buy a model in the right temperature range.

Note: Wild camping is prohibited in Germany and many other European countries. However, in Norway or Sweden, it is allowed as long as you follow certain rules and do not stay in one place for more than one or two nights. The exact provisions can be found in the so-called
“Everyman’s Right” of the respective country
.

After a movingly long city history between the 12th century and the 19th century, Bayreuth initially remained largely unscathed during the last World War. In the course of the war, however, some of the city centre was destroyed. The internationally renowned Festspielhaus was spared.

After the collapse of the Roman Empire in the In the 5th century, Alcudia was destroyed by vandals in the 6th century. The city returned to its former greatness under the control of the Moors, who built Al Qudya. The narrow streets of the old town, especially Carrer d’en Serra, bear witness to the Arab past. The walls that surround Alcudia today were built in the early 14th century after the Spanish conquest under the reign of King Jaume II to protect the inhabitants from further attacks. The Portal de Moll, with its two angular towers and two large palm trees, became the symbol of Alcudia. Another building from this period is the Ca’n Torro Library, located on Carrer d’en Serra and opened in 1990 for concerts and exhibitions. Alcudia was opened up for tourism in the 20th century.

Dugi Otok: The “Long Island” is one of the oldest settlement areas in Dalmatia

0

Remains of human bones from the early Middle Stone Age found in a cave during excavations in 2011 prove that Dugi Otok, the largest of the Zadar islands off the Dalmatian coast with an area of 114 km², was probably permanently settled about 11,000 years ago. The island, which is just over 44 kilometres long and almost 5 kilometres wide, only a few kilometres west of and off the Croatian port city of Zadar, bears its name due to its characteristic shape.

Most of the island’s current 2,900 inhabitants live in the largest cities and towns on the east coast, which faces the mainland. The steep, strongly rugged west coast, on the other hand, which faces the open sea, is much more sparsely populated. Dugi Otok is popular as a hospitable holiday destination mainly because of its almost completely untouched maritime nature with beautiful landscapes. Particularly well-known and well visited in summer is the 70 km² Telašćica Nature Park in the south-eastern part, with 25 small beaches and the therapeutically used salt lake of Mir stretching across its bay.

Not only dolphins, falcons and donkeys feel “right at home” in the nature of the island

The landscape of the nature park is also characterized by cliffs up to over 160 meters high, from which you have fantastic views over the sea and the Croatian mainland as well as the neighboring archipelago of the Kornati Islands to the south. Falcons nest on and in the cliffs, the waters in front of the rocks are populated by crabs, corals, sea urchins and sponges. With a bit of luck, visitors will also see dolphins swimming directly off the coast, and there is also a small donkey sanctuary in the park: donkeys used to be an important part of daily life on Dugi Otok. The bay of Telašćica is often praised as the most beautiful of its kind on the Adriatic, the truly spectacular cliffs, the azure blue water and the sometimes tiny islands result in a unique panorama that is perfect for a leisurely picnic in a shady spot. Connected to the sea by several underground canals, Lake Mir is another natural monument. This saltwater lake is warmer than the sea in summer and colder in winter, the water temperature can fluctuate between 33 and 5 degrees Celsius throughout the year.

The almost deserted west coast is a perfect refuge for those seeking peace and quiet

Two of the most beautiful and well-known sandy beaches on Dugi Otok are undoubtedly the rather secluded Saharun beach in the northwest of the island, whose golden sand contrasts with turquoise waters, and the at least equally picturesque Veli Žal beach near Dragove a little further south. The Saharun beach, which is quite quiet even in the summer high season, near the northern tip of the island near the two villages of Božava and Veli Rat, is still an insider tip and is therefore particularly suitable for families with children. The dark green pine forests around the bay provide shade and shelter from the hot sun, the beach slopes gently towards the sea.

From June to September, two beach bars open, which also rent out loungers and parasols, and sailboats are often anchored beyond the cordoned-off bathing area. During this time, a narrow-gauge railway runs on the approx. 4 km long line from Božava to Saharun. Otherwise, there is no development, the nearest parking lot is discreetly hidden behind a pine forest. The sand and pebble beach of Veli Žal is located opposite the island of Mežanj and is similarly quiet and almost never crowded. Here the water gets deeper a little faster, food and drinks are also available seasonally at a small beach bar.

The sea around Dugi Otok is also a sought-after sailing and diving area

Not far from these two beaches is also the bay Brbinjšćica southwest of the town of Brbinj in the northeast, which is considered one of the safest anchorages and best places for diving on Dugi Otok. The beach of Veli Rat in the Čuna Bay in the north attracts many guests and visitors, the two small pebble beaches that are ideal for children and are surrounded by large and shady pine trees. There is also a beach bar and sanitary facilities and campsites nearby. The Veli Rat lighthouse from 1849 is often chosen as an excursion destination and photo motif, which is the highest lighthouse on the Croatian coast at 42 meters and can be climbed over 200 spiral steps. The same applies to the mysterious stalactite cave Strasna Pec between the villages of Savar and Luka, where you can cool off from the heat above ground during guided tours. On the southern tip of the Mir salt lake, on the other hand, Lojišće beach is devoid of any gastronomy and tourist infrastructure, but with fantastic places to sleep under the sparkling starry sky.

Whether on foot, by car or by bike: there is a lot to discover on the island

The authentic villages and communities on the island are ideal for small excursions and day trips on foot, by bike or rental car. Sali is currently the largest settlement on the island with about 750 inhabitants and the gateway to the Telašćica Nature Park, where the ferries from Zadar dock. Luka is located on Vela Straža, the highest peak on Dugi Otoki and Boka Bay, and is known for its healing mud. Savar has a picturesque church at the end of a small peninsula, and there are many quarries in the area. Brbinj, between the bays of Jaz and Lučina, is surrounded by dense olive groves. Božava with its pine forests is a popular tourist destination with numerous accommodations. Not far from the village are the former submarine bunkers of the former Yugoslav People’s Army, which were built into the rocks. Pantera Bay near Verunić is popular among divers because of a shipwreck.

Las Vegas – Entertainment Metropolis in the Desert

0

The metropolis in the Nevada desert is also known as the “City of Sin” or the “Gambling Capital of the World”. This image attracts countless visitors every year to Las Vegas, which has built up a reputation as a vibrant entertainment metropolis.

Those who come here look for the luxurious resorts, first-class shows and the glaring lights that illuminate “Sin City” as bright as day even at night. Just like New York on the East Coast, the city stands for the lifestyle of the USA like no other.

Glitz and glamour

The desert metropolis is known for its breathtaking skyline. This is dominated by the countless neon signs on Las Vegas Boulevard. This boulevard is best known by its name “Strip”. The illuminated facades in combination with the various neon lights create a very special atmosphere, in which you can immerse yourself perfectly, especially in the evening or at night. That’s when Las Vegas turns into a sparkling wonderland. Here everything is bigger, more beautiful and more spectacular. This also applies to the offers in the city’s countless casinos. However, this concentration also challenges the best in the world to compete with each other.

Poker World Championship

This is especially true for the Poker World Championship, which takes place annually in Las Vegas. From the end of May to mid-July, tens of thousands of players from all over the world compete for money and recognition in a series of tournaments. The highlight is the so-called Main Event. More than 10,000 participants competed there in 2023 and competed for a winner’s prize money of more than 12 million dollars. But not everyone can afford the participation fee of 10,000 dollars. Therefore, numerous poker rooms organize so-called satellites to allow the winners of these qualifying tournaments to participate. This gives players who previously only knew poker from online poker rooms the chance to compete live against the best in the world. The numerous tournaments, which are always available online, offer the opportunity to test strategies and expand your knowledge of the game. This works much faster online than live, because far more poker hands can be played in the same period. If you win a trip to Las Vegas, you can prove your skills. But Las Vegas is much more than just gambling.

Entertainment at the highest level

The city in the desert has changed its image significantly over the years . Where gambling used to dominate, world-class entertainment is now at home. This applies not only to the spectacular shows, but also to sports and concerts. The world’s biggest stars come to Las Vegas to present their shows to enthusiastic audiences. If you are looking for entertainment, you will find it not only with the magicians, in musicals or in comedy shows, but also with the pop stars for years. What Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley once discovered for themselves has now become an industry in its own right. Celine Dion performed here for many years and collected record fees. Since then, more and more big stars have been coming to the city to play an entire concert series. The last example of this is Adele, who is currently generating record sales in the city.

Luxury Resorts and Hotels

If you travel to Las Vegas, you should visit one of the first-class resorts. These have reached the dimension of small towns because they do not only serve as accommodation. Here, visitors will find huge casinos, luxurious spas and pools, countless restaurants and locations where spectacular shows can be admired every day. Many resorts are so-called theme hotels that offer their guests reason to be amazed. In any case, the selection of entertainment options in the casinos is enormous, these fit perfectly into the overall package of the resorts. This is also an excellent place to dine. Some hotels and resorts offer their guests several dozen different restaurants that offer every form of international cuisine. This culinary diversity makes it difficult for guests to leave the city, but the desert at the gates of Las Vegas also has its charm.

The desert is calling

If you leave the city behind, you inevitably end up in the Mojave Desert. Their scenic advantages are ideal for various outdoor activities. This includes not only excursions by jeep, but also a visit to Red Rock Canyon or the nearby Valley of Fire State Park. Its unique beauty fascinates visitors again and again.

Las Vegas offers much more than just a visit to a casino. The combination of entertainment, adventure and luxury makes the city a place of longing for many travelers to the USA.

Urlaubsfritzen – a new portal for package tours

If you are planning a holiday trip, you have many places to go these days. From travel agencies to classic tour operators and booking portals as well as holiday deal portals, there is a huge selection of options to find the next dream holiday.

With this article, we would like to introduce you to a still quite young, independent holiday deal portal. Urlaubsfritzen is a travel portal that searches for holiday deals with all well-known tour operators and presents the best ones on their website. When selecting deals, the portal focuses on
package tours
for hotels with good to very good ratings. Because all too often, cheap hotels are not necessarily the best and most beautiful hotels. Thanks to these criteria, holiday enthusiasts want to ensure that the next holiday will actually be a dream holiday.

The maxim of Urlaubsfritzen

For the selection of holiday deals for package tours, the portal proceeds according to the maxim “quality before quantity”. Therefore, all travel offers are hand-selected. The deal offer includes classic 3-, 4- and 5-star hotels with the usual catering packages such as breakfast, half and full board as well as all-inclusive hotels. In addition, the Urlaubsfritzen have developed their own data-based hotel rating score as a further quality feature. This serves as the basis for the so-called Urlaubsfritzen Hotelaward, which was presented for the first time in 2020 in the categories Diamond, Gold, Silver and Bronze.

The range of package tours

The portal has prepared its offer of package tours via a menu structure according to the classic travel countries in such a way that you can quickly and easily be inspired in your search for a holiday deal. The offer includes popular destinations on the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, the Greek Islands, North Africa, the Caribbean and Asia. Almost all offers in the area of package tours also have a travel calendar, where the offer prices for the deal are displayed for all months in which the hotel can be booked. According to Urlaubsfritzen, this is updated regularly.

In addition, there is a helpful climate overview for each package tour presented at Urlaubsfritzen with the monthly temperatures, average hours of sunshine per day and the water temperatures, should the hotel be located by the sea.

Hotel search as an extended offer

In addition to the classic package tours, the Urlaubsfritzen also offer a hotel search on their portal. According to the portal, the hotel database currently includes about 11,000 selected hotels in Europe. As in the area of package tours, these hotels are selected on the basis of review data. In this way, the holiday enthusiasts want to make sure that you can book every hotel presented here without hesitation and have a nice hotel stay. A filter search makes it easier to find a hotel here.

Range of flights and cruises as well as last minute travel deals

On Urlaubsfritzen you will also find offers for cruises. However, this offer is currently still very limited, but according to the portal operators, it will be successively expanded. The aviation sector also has potential for expansion. In the area of last minute offers, the holiday fritzen are working on a new concept. It remains to be seen what this concept will look like and when it will be released.

Holiday Fritzen Conclusion

The range of package tours seems interesting and conclusive. According to the founders, there are some projects that will not only enhance the overall offer, but also expand it. We are curious to see how the holiday deal portal will continue.
