The island of Helengeli
Helengeli is located at the tip of the northern Malé Atoll. Guests can reach this barefoot island after a 50-minute speedboat ride from Male International Airport. Dense tropical vegetation and the turquoise lagoon underline the natural charm of the island.
Helengeli Island offers an exotic house reef with excellent channel diving opportunities, just a few meters from the beach. The location is unique – in the middle of two deep channels that form the largest water inlet in North Male Atoll – and ensures that the house reef has an abundance of tropical fish and a great biodiversity. A paradise for divers!
The Island Resort
The four-star superior resort is home to 116 villas with colorful interiors that, in combination with tropical, local design, highlight the natural aesthetics of the Emerald Isle.
The service is of the highest level. The Maldivian hospitality with a warm smile and the attitude of “nothing is too much hassle” makes guests feel welcome.
This spirit of giving extends to the environment as well. OBLU NATURE Helengeli is a Green Globe certified resort. A sensitive approach to the island’s ecosystem, sustainable drinking water solutions with a water bottling system from EcoPure Waters, the support of local communities and other green initiatives are part of the norm here.
At OBLU NATURE Helengeli, guests can choose between 116 villas in four different categories. Modern aesthetics, tropical color accents, and cozy décor like driftwood desks and starfish-shaped light fixtures exude tropical flair.
Each villa has a private outdoor terrace and an outdoor bathroom with double sinks (except in the Beach Villa), as well as a small garden. All villas have the following standard amenities: king-size bed, air-conditioning, fan, coffee and tea making facilities, hairdryer, electronic safe, beach bag, life jackets and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. The mini fridge is replenished daily with beer, soft drinks and water and is included in the overnight rate.
Gastronomy
Helengeli Island has two restaurants and a bar. The main restaurant, The Spice , serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. A rich international buffet, menus from all over the world and live cooking stations await guests.

The house reef is ideal for channel dives and watching large predatory fish. Sea turtles, reef sharks, manta rays and schools of colorful fish are just a leg or two away. In the vicinity of the small island paradise there are more than 30 world-famous dive sites, such as “Bodu Thila” or “Fairytail”.

The house reef is also suitable for off-dive explorations. With snorkeling equipment provided free of charge by the resort, guests can dive into the crystal clear waters directly from the beach. Around the island of Helengeli many different animal and coral species can be discovered.
TGI Helengeli offers a range of diving certifications for beginners and advanced divers, such as PADI Discover Scuba Diving, PADI Adventure Diver (ADV) and more. Guests will be assisted by highly qualified instructors to complete the dives required for certifications.
