Azerbaijan, located between Russia and Iran and bordered by the Caspian Sea to the east, is a country rich in history, culture and nature. Outside the capital, you’ll find a diverse landscape that ranges from semi-arid plains to snow-capped peaks. Gobustan National Park, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is famous for its prehistoric rock carvings, which are an important archaeological site.

Azerbaijani cuisine is varied and tasty, offering a wide range of meat, vegetable and rice dishes, often enhanced with fresh herbs and spices. A well-known national dish is plov, a rice dish with meat, vegetables and dried fruits.
